On May 20, 2024, Town of Haddam’s Committee on Aging held our monthly meeting. Discussion included the use of Haddam Elementary School (HES) for Senior programs and Senior Housing.
A motion was made to support the Board of Selectmen and RAK proposal for mixed use to include a Senior Center, Community Center, some town offices and up to 36 one- and two -bedroom affordable senior apartments.
Today nearly 20% of Haddam’s population is 65 and over and continues to grow. Going forward the RAK proposal represents a good plan for the future. We encourage everyone to go to the Haddam web site to review the proposal.
