Water Quality Reports Available from Connecticut Water

Submitted by Daniel Meaney

(June 13, 2023) — Connecticut Water Company’s latest water quality reports are available online. The reports show that all of the company’s more than sixty systems deliver water to customers that meets, or surpasses, state and federal requirements for drinking water. The reports summarize water quality testing done in 2022 and include information on how water quality is protected and what the company is required to test for under the Safe Drinking Water Act.

“Connecticut Water employees are committed to delivering high-quality drinking water to customer taps 24 hours a day, seven days a week.  We know water is essential to life and touches everything we care about,” stated Connecticut Water’s Vice President of Service Delivery, Rose Gavrilovic, P.E.  “We encourage our customers to read the water quality report for their water system to see the extensive testing and monitoring that is performed throughout the year so they can have confidence in the quality of their tap water.”

Connecticut Water tests and treats the water to ensure it complies with drinking water standards. More than 170,000 water quality tests are conducted each year for more than 120 water quality parameters —that’s an average of more than 400 tests each day. Water is tested prior to treatment, during the treatment process, in the distribution system, and at a random sample of customer homes. Water quality samples are taken to state certified laboratories and test results are submitted to Connecticut Department of Public Health’s Drinking Water Division.
