(July 23, 2024) — The Connecticut Department of Transportation has provided the following two-week lookahead for the Roundabouts project in the Tylerville section of Haddam:
Drainage will be installed from the Tylerville garage, moving toward the Northern Roundabout. This work will be completed during overnight hours. Drivers should anticipate alternating one-way traffic along Route 154 for this work; however, much of the work is in the shoulder area and the contractor has indicated that they may be able to maintain two lanes of traffic.
The Southern Roundabout continues to be very active. Most of the work here will still occur off the roadway behind the barrier and pertains to the bridge construction. The current orientation is the staging for the foreseeable future. The biggest construction-related traffic impacts will be truck traffic entering and exiting the site.
The contractor plans to continue hauling in fill to build up the Route 82 Connector, and expects deliveries of materials/equipment throughout the work shifts, which may require occasional short traffic interruptions. The contractor plans to start building up the sidewalks/approaches to the Southern Roundabout, but majority of the work should be off the road or in the shoulder.
Night work is expected at the Southern Roundabout. This work will impact traffic so please anticipate alternating one-way traffic on Route 154 over the next two weeks. The contractor will be installing new Ductile Iron Pipe for the town’s water main.
Please note that all traffic patterns and/or project work are subject to change as necessary.
