(January 17, 2023) — Regional School District #17 is now seeking three- and four-year-old children for the 2023-2024 Integrated Preschool Program. The program, which is located at Killingworth Elementary School, consists of typically developing peers and identified special education students in a language-rich, structured environment focused on center-based learning.
A screening will be held for peers on March 15, 2023. Registration is required to secure your spot. Requirements for the preschool program are as follows:
- Must be a Haddam, Higganum, Haddam Neck, or Killingworth resident;
- Must be at least three years old by September 1, 2023;
- Must demonstrate age-appropriate social, behavioral, and cognitive skills;
- Must be toilet trained by the time school starts;
- Must demonstrate the ability to model appropriate skills in the areas of play, social interactions, and adaptive behaviors.
