The views stated here are those of the author and do not necessarily reflect those of the editors of this newspaper.

Tomorrow evening August 6, 2019 at the Haddam Volunteer Fire Company #1 at 439 Saybrook Road there is a Town Hearing at 6:30 p.m. and a Town Meeting at 7:00 p.m. regarding the Bonding Package to fund many Capital Items in this current fiscal years Capital Budget. The 6:30 Hearing is to discuss the bond package and the 7:00 Meeting is to vote to approve or dis-approve the bond package.

The bond package includes equipment for public works, money for road improvements and much needed equipment for the Fire Department. The much needed equipment for the Fire Department includes new Self Contained Breathing Apparatus or “Air Packs”, new Rescue Tools or “Jaws of Life”, new radios and radio equipment, and the repaving of two driveways at two of the smaller Firehouses.

We are asking residents to come out to the hearing and meeting and hoping you will support the bond package so the we will have the funding for this much needed new equipment.

If anyone has any questions please feel free to message me and I will do my best to get back to everyone as soon as possible.

Thank you for your time and I hope to see you at the meeting and that you can support the Fire Department.

Sincerely,
Scott Larson
President, Haddam Volunteer Fire Department
