Girls Lacrosse 2024: HKHS Dominates Valley, 12-3

HK 12 Valley 3

(April 25, 2024) — With former HK-Youth Coach Sue in the stands and former Middle School Coach John now the coach of Valley Regional looking on, the Haddam-Killingworth High School Girls Lacrosse team took the field by storm going into the third quarter with a potential shut-out game.

Possession, stick-control, groundballs, and interceptions were on the menu on April 23, 2024, and HK’s varsity goalie Gabby Williams was on fire, making certain her net remained empty.  Valley’s goalie was committed to helping her team so much so that she consistently attempted to carry the ball downfield, but Williams wasn’t having it.  We saw control on the draw, multi-pass plays, quick pass-and-shoot strategies, and box-outs for possession. HKHS clearly wanted this win, which they earned with a final score of 12-3.

The defensive line, Co-Captain Te’a Norman, Senior Peyton Tyler, Senior Brigitte Battistoni, and Junior Sonya Luneau became a formidable shield for the HK net. Goals for this game were earned by Co-Captain Sammy Ruimerman (2); Senior Aly Campbell (3); Senior Jamie DiNapoli (1); Senior Ella Connely (2); Junior Ava Ramino (3); and Sophomore Dina Kilroy (1)

Great game, Lady Cougars! Remember: “groundballs win games”!
