(Dec. 9, 2021) —In its continuous effort to enhance electric reliability for customers,Eversource will be conducting aerial inspections of high-voltage electrical equipment in rights of way throughout the state. The inspection involves the use of a helicopter equipped with LiDAR (light detection and ranging), an aerial high-tech survey of the transmission system. It allows energy company engineers to analyze the transmission lines using up-to-date electronic data.
The aerial inspections will be completed by a blue and yellow helicopter with tail number #N803JB. Inspections will take place Tuesday, December 14 through Thursday, December 23, 2021 between 9:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. – weather permitting.
Utility rights of way covering the following Connecticut cities and towns will be inspected:
