HK Football defeats Coginchaug 23-20 by a field goal with 1 second left

Freshman Isaac Edwards kicked a 27-yard field goal as time expired to give HK the win over the co-op of Coginchaug/East Hampton/Hale Ray (4-2). The Cougars’ Tim Hickman passed for 122 yards — including a 40-yard touchdown pass to Even Garcia — and rushed for another 64 yards and a touchdown. HK improved its record to 4-2 with the win.

“It’s a young group, and I’m really proud of these guys,” said HK Head Coach Tyler Wilcox after the game. “It’s always a battle when we play Coginchaug. They have a great coaching staff, and our games always seem to come down to the final possession. We needed the confidence that this game would provide going forward if we want to make a run at the playoffs.”
