(October 14, 2026) —The Haddam-Killingworth High School Boys Soccer team won their ninth game in a row with an impressive effort against rival Valley Regional on October 13, 2026. The opponent put up a good fight, but the Cougars seemed to want it more as they aggressively contested every 50-50 ball and pressed the attack consistently forward.
The HKHS defense was also stout as they gave up nary a shot on goal all night. Once again, the Cougars scored early, in the 12th minute, on a goal by Tristen Edwards off of a nice pass from Luca Piacenti that split the goalie and a defender causing the two to collide, with Tristen then easily finishing.
About fifteen minutes later, Luca again provided a great pass through the defense, allowing Strati Dhembi to put HKHS up 2-0. The second half showed the Cougars continuing to press Valley, but no more goals were scored. HKHS will defend the home turf again on October 15, 2026, as Morgan High School comes to town. Game time is 3:45 p.m.
