In their second game of the season, the boys’ soccer team mixed it up pretty good with a recent 3-time state championship Old Saybrook team. The game was fast and very physical, with both teams pressing hard. Tristin Edwards got the Cougars on the board with a great free kick early in the first half. It remained close for most of the first half, until Shotti Dhembi put in their second goal with 4 minutes left in the half. The second game was more of the same with our defense thwarting many Old Saybrook attacks and HK also having several more chances to score. Saybrook did manage to put one final goal past our keeper in the 82nd minute, but it wasn’t enough. The Cougars had a hard-fought win to celebrate. Our home crowd was large and very supportive, especially with the constant cheering from the HK Football team who attended.
