HKHS Football falls to Ellington 39-20

Haddam-Killingworth’s Tim Hickman scored on a 40-yard run and threw a 17-yard TD pass to Even Garcia in a losing effort to Ellington. After HK’s Kyle House scored the game’s first touchdown in the first quarter, the Knights reeled off four second-quarter TDs to build a lead that the Cougars could not overcome.

“We opened with a score and were knocking on the door with first-and-goal on our next possession, but we couldn’t punch it in,” said HK Head Coach Tyler Wilcox. “That shifted the momentum of the entire game.”

“I can’t say enough about Tim Hickman,” Wilcox added about the Cougar quarterback. “He seems to get better every game, and he is a true team leader. Even though we never got the momentum back, he kept us in the game with his arm and his legs.”

The Cougars return home on Friday, Nov. 6, against CREC. Kickoff is 6:30 p.m.
