Submitted by Kate Porch

(November 30, 2025) — The Middlesex Hospital Vocal Chords will present a  “Winter Musical Celebration” on Sunday, December 7, 2025 at 2:00 p.m. at Portland High School, 95 High Street in Portland.

Wrap yourself in traditional holiday music as you listen to ninety voices directed by Samuel Tucker, and a ten-piece orchestra directed by Alan Dougherty, serenade you. You will be treated to pieces that have a pop/rock feel, bells ringing with spirit, fast swing, brilliant Venetian music by Vivaldi and playful optimism. The music is filled with texture, dynamics, layers and forces. We will be performing “Light One Candle” recorded by Peter, Paul and Mary and arranged by local music educator Jack Zaino, honoring those who fought for freedom, along with a choral medley from “Polar Express” and many other fun holiday favorites.

Tickets to the event are $25 and can be purchased from any member or by calling Joyce at 860-342-3120 or Diane at 860-347-2787.  For more Information, go to vocalchords20.org or visit us on Facebook, Instagram and YouTube. Don’t forget to “like” and “follow” us while you’re there.
