U.S. Coast Guard Band Returns to Parmelee Farm July 26th

Submitted by Doreen Staskelunas, Haddam Senior Center Activities Coordinator

(July 15, 2026) — The Killingworth and Haddam Lions organizations have partnered to bring the United States Coast Guard Band back to Parmelee Farm in Killingworth! This free concert will be presented on Sunday, July 26, 2026 at 5:00 p.m. The Senior Van is available for rides to the concert; a sign-up sheet is located at the Senior Center. Stop by, or call the Senior Center and we will make sure you are added to the list. Space is limited, so don’t delay to reserve your seat on the van. Once at Parmelee Farm, golf carts will be available for anyone needing help navigating the grounds.

In addition, as we have some exceptionally hot days ahead, I want to take a moment to remind everyone that Brainerd Memorial Library (across from the Senior Center) is open, and is a designated Cooling Center. If you do not have a cooling source, I strongly encourage you to visit our wonderful library. Their hours for the remainder of this week are: Wednesday, 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Thursday and Friday 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. and Saturday, 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Specific questions can be answered by calling the library at 860-345-2204.
