(April 30, 2025) — Many presidents throughout American history have been the target of an assassin’s bullet. This lecture on failed presidential assassinations will explore some of the more famous attempts on the life of the President of the United States as well as the lesser-known successful assassinations of James A. Garfield and William McKinley.
We are thrilled to welcome “The Bow Tie Historian” to the Haddam Senior Center on Friday, May 2, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. for this fun and engaging presentation on presidential assassinations.
Jason Scappaticci, aka “The Bow Tie Historian,” was born and raised in Connecticut and has worked in higher education since 2003. Some topics of particular interest for Jason are presidential history, world’s fairs, and the golden age of transatlantic passenger liners. These topics are reflected in many of the lectures he has taken around the state to libraries and historical societies.
