(February 22, 2024) — Haddam Volunteer Fire Company and Haddam Volunteer Ambulance Service, Inc. responded to a multi-car motor vehicle accident at 3:10 p.m. on February 17, 2024 on Killingworth Road (Route 81), south of Brault Hill Road in Higganum.
Five vehicles were involved in the crash with eleven patents needing medical evaluations. Three people were transported to area hospitals with non-life threatening injuries.
HVFC and HVAS relied on several other towns to provide mutual aid at the scene.
A section of Killingworth Road was closed for about 30 minutes during the incident.
The incident is under investigation with the Connecticut State Police.
