Veterans Seminar in Killingworth Details New Benefits Now Available

Submitted by Richard Mason

(June 24, 2023) — Richard Mason, Killingworth Veterans Representative, and Manuel Meneses, a retired veteran of the U.S. Navy and military and veterans representative for the Second Congressional District, conducted a Veterans
Seminar at Killingworth Library on June 22, 2023.

The seminar, open to all veterans, focused on the latest updates to veterans benefits, including the recently passed PACT ACT. The new law expands VA health care and
benefits for veterans exposed to burn pits and other toxic substances.

Mason and Meneses reviewed qualifications and forms that are required for benefits. Mason urged all Killingworth veterans to locate their DD214 card, and to register with the VA and the Killingworth Town Clerk.

Mason can be reached by email at: veterans@townofkillingworth.com

Dates for a follow-up seminar will be announced.
