Upcoming Haddam Voting Sessions

 

REFERENDUM

ROSSI PROPERTY

March 5, 2024 – 6:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.

 The Town of Haddam will hold a Referendum concerning the future of portions of the Rossi property at 270 and 300 Saybrook Road in Higganum.

 

Yes/No Question

 Shall the Town sell approximately three acres, being portions of property at 270 & 300 Saybrook Road, for $250,000 to Higganum Village, LLC, on the condition that Higganum Village, LLC invest $3,000,000 to improve such property for future use?

All Polling Locations will be open for this referendum. Remember, all property owners (who own Haddam taxable property of $1,000 or more) are encouraged to vote. “Your Vote Matters.”

*District #001 – Haddam Firehouse Community Hall, 439 Saybrook Road, Higganum

 

*District #002 – Regional School District #17, Central Office, 57 Little City Road, Higganum

 

*District #003 – Haddam Neck Firehouse, 50 Rock Landing Road, Haddam Neck

 

*Curbside voting available for “voters with a disability.”

 

To register to vote: Your registration application must be received by mail or in-person by your Registrar of Voters or Town Clerk by 4:00 p.m. on March 4, 2024.

 

Call the Registrars of Voters at 860-345-0979 for voting information and the Town Clerk at 860-345-8531 for absentee ballot applications.

  • April 2, 2024 – Presidential Preference Primary

 – All three polls open from 6:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.

  • January 2, 2024 was the last day that an enrolled elector could transfer from one party to another and be eligible to vote in the Presidential Preference Primary of the “new” party. However, this does not apply when switching from unaffiliated to a party membership.  If you are unaffiliated and want to vote in the Presidential Preference Primary, you may switch up until 12:00 Noon on the last business day before the primary, which is Monday, April 1, 2024.
  • Note: Early voting will start March 26, 2024 at the Haddam Firehouse, 439 Saybrook Road, Higganum.

  • May 7, 2024 – Haddam RSD#17 School Budget Referendum

– All three polls open from 6:00 a.m. – 8:00 p.m.

  • Note: Early voting NOT available for referendum

 

  • August 13, 2024 – State and District Office Primary

 – All three polls open from 6:00 a.m. – 8:00 p.m.

  • May 13, 2024 is the last day that an enrolled elector can transfer from one party to another party and be eligible to vote in the State and District Office Primary of the “new.” However, this does not apply when switching from unaffiliated to a party membership.  If you are unaffiliated and want to vote in the State and District Office Primary, you may switch up to 12:00 Noon on the last business day before the primary, which is Monday, August 12, 2024.

  • November 5, 2024 – Presidential and State Election

 – All three polls open from 6:00am – 8:00pm

  • Note: Early voting starts October 21, 2024 at the Haddam Firehouse,   439 Saybrook Road, Higganum.  (See our website for days and hours     haddam.org/registrar-voters)
