HVFC Responds to Motor Vehicle Accident that Injured Five

(January 14, 2025) — Five people, including a child, were transported to Middlesex Hospital following a motor vehicle accident on January 11, 2025.
At 3:45 p.m., Haddam Volunteer Fire Company responded to the intersection of Killingworth Road and Hidden Lake Road in Higganum for a reported two-car accident. One vehicle was found in the southbound lane, and the second vehicle was off the road, south of the intersection.
The patients were transported by Haddam Volunteer Ambulance Service, Inc., Killingworth Ambulance Association and Chester Hose Ambulance. Crews closed one lane of traffic during the incident. Connecticut State Police are investigating.
This was the sixth motor vehicle accident HVFC has responded to in January. Others occurred on January 2, 2025 and January 3, 2025 on Route 9 South between exits 19 and 15; on January 6, 2025 on Filley Road; on January 9, 2025 on Route 9 South between exits 13 and 10; and on January 10, 2025 on Saybrook Road.
