(April 11. 2023)—Multiple mutual aid departments, including Haddam Volunteer Fire Company, assisted in extinguishing a five-acre brush fire off Trowbridge Road in East Haddam on April 9, 2023.
East Haddam Fire Department was first dispatched to the scene shortly after 7:00 p.m. Command requested additional brush, tanker, and ATV apparatus from Haddam, East Hampton, Colchester, Lyme, Chester, Haddam Neck, Salem, Gardner Lake, Middletown South District, and Portland. Once the fire was under control, the scene was turned over to DEEP at approximately 10:00 p.m.
The cause of the fire is under investigation with the East Haddam Fire Marshal’s Office.
