HVFC Congratulates Five Members on Recent Achievements

(May 24, 2023)—Haddam Volunteer Fire Company has many reasons to celebrate this month. Please join us in congratulating the following members!

Captain Jeff Doskos received his 20-years-of-service pin during the company’s monthly meeting on May 1, 2023. Jeff was elected into membership on April 7, 2003 after serving with Middlefield Volunteer Fire Company. At Haddam Fire, Jeff has served as Captain multiple times and he’s currently the Junior Division advisor.

Larry Graves completed his probationary period and was brought in as a full member on May 1, 2023. He was promoted to the rank of Firefighter. Larry initially joined the company in July 1988 and took Life Membership in September 2004. He served as Chief from 1998-2001. Larry rejoined HVFC in February 2023.

Ali Halligan, who was an EMS member, was promoted to the rank of Firefighter on May 1, 2023.

EMT Sierra Statkiewicz graduated from Simmons University on May 19, 2023 with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing. Sierra joined Haddam Fire in November 2019 as a Junior Division member.

Deputy Chief Jed Morrissey, who works as a firefighter for the Town of Guilford, was honored by the Yale-New Haven Hospital Center on May 23, 2023 for extraordinary patient care. Jed and four fellow Guilford firefighters helped resuscitate a patient who was in cardiac arrest.
