Haddam-Killingworth Little League to Host District 9 Tournament

(June 19, 2022) — The Haddam-Killingworth Little League (HKLL) is the official host for the Connecticut Little League, District 9 Baseball, Minors Tournament and Majors Tournament. Great Hill Athletic Complex, located on Jail Hill Road in Haddam, will be the site for Tournament play. Other District 9 towns playing include; Madison, Westbrook, Durham and Middlefield (Coginchaug), Middletown, Deep River, Essex, Old Saybrook, and East Haddam. HKLL’s President, Jason Waterbury, notes, “Being selected to be a District 9 host site for both Majors and Minors Baseball is a significant honor for HKLL. Haddam itself has a long-standing tradition of hosting at least one of these tournaments at the Jail Hill site. District 9’s selection in using the Jail Hill fields for tournament games, for both age groups, continues this tradition and shows the level of confidence that District 9 has in HKLL’s abilities to provide a positive experience for all towns involved. Every year that I have been involved, we have received numerous compliments on the quality of our fields, level of preparedness, and ability to provide a great experience for all players, coaches, and parents involved.”

Haddam can expect to see an influx of more than 250 players during the two weeks of Tournament Play. Players will be accompanied by their coaches, families, and friends. Local volunteers from Haddam, Haddam Neck, Higganum, and Killingworth will work tirelessly to maintain fields, staff the concession stand, call and score games and work other event duties.
