Announcing the Crafting Connection at the Brainerd Memorial Library

Submitted by Tom Piezzo.

(Oct. 6, 2021) — Thanks to the generosity of the Community Foundation of Middlesex County, the Griffin Family, and the Peach Pit Foundation, we are pleased to launch the Crafting Connection.

Over the next six months, we will offer monthly crafting kits and programs, seeded by a unique $1,000 grant whose sole directive was to share joy and cheer with the community.  To that end, the Library purchased a Cricut, which is an advanced cutting machine used for crafting paper, card stock, vinyl, and more.  With this preparation capability – far beyond what can be accomplished by hand – and with other materials from our “Library of Things,” we will offer take-home craft kits for individual or family use with supervision on the following themes:

October: Crochet kits
November: Greeting cards
December: Cookie making
January: Cricut Crafts
February: Candy making
March: Cross stitch

But there’s more to the Crafting Connection than just what you make.  A portion of each month’s crafts will go to local organizations and groups, to share the good in our community.

Watch for the announcements of kits on our website: www.brainerdlibrary.org or on our Facebook and Instagram feeds.  October crochet kits are available now.
