Soccer 2021: HKHS Defeats Platt Tech 5-0

On Tuesday, October 5, 2021, the Haddam-Killingworth High School girls soccer team defeated Platt Tech by a score of 5-0.  Rhianna Phipps was in goal for the Cougars, collecting her third shutout of the season.  In the first half, captain Hadley Commerford opened the scoring for her team when she received an assist from Leah Chester.  Soon after, Tu-lanh Criscoulo scored the second goal when she received a pass from Emmy Kehlenbach.  Tu-lanh’s goal marked her second goal in back to back games. Sierra Hajek scored the third goal in the first half with an assist from Amanda Cassidy.

In the second half, Brianna Nugent snuck a goal in for HK.  The Cougars dominated offensively, and captain Yumi Imai finished the game with the fifth goal.  HK is now 4-3-1 on the season and Platt Tech fell to 2-5.

HK’s next game is in Westbrook on Wednesday evening.
