(April 27, 2026) — The Haddam-Killingworth High School Boys Lacrosse team continued its winning streak on April 23, 2026 with an 18-0 win at home against Lyme-Old Lyme, bringing their season record to 6-0.
The Cougars offense came out strong, putting a lot of pressure on Lyme-Old Lyme’s defense, with eleven shots on goal and scoring seven times in the first quarter. Kody Lehet (Junior) accounted for four of those goals, two unassisted. John Moyher (Senior) and Spencer Savoy (Senior) each had unassisted goals.
Midfielder Josh Frith (Senior) has been the primary FOGO (face-off, get-off) for the Cougars and did a great job getting possession for HKHS. To lead off the second quarter, Frith dislodged the ball to the HK side, it was scooped by Declan Moriarty (Senior) and passed to Moyher, who scored. And in the third quarter Frith won the face-off and took the ball down for an unassisted goal. The HKHS midfield strength was also demonstrated by Wyatt Sanderson (Freshman) with a fourth quarter FOGO win for the Cougars.

Halfway into the second quarter Finn O’Hanlon (Senior) intercepted a pass, shot it down the field to Moyher who passed back to O’Hanlon for the score. The Cougars ratcheted up the score with six more goals shared between O’Hanlon and Lehet, ending the quarter at 14-0.

When the HKHS defense did see action they were quick to clear the ball downfield. Kellen Cassidy (Senior) couldn’t be shaken off of any player he was defending and did an excellent job keeping the pressure on Lyme-Old Lyme. D-poles Joseph Rizzo (Sophomore) and Ryan Perry (Freshman) both had ball clearing plays that were run downfield and passed off to Ethan Pitts (Senior) who made a shot on goal each time, scoring once. The next games for the HKHS Boys Lacrosse team are Saturday April 25, 2026 against Hall High School, and Tuesday April 28, 2026 against Old Saybrook.
