(September 13, 2025) — Governor Ned Lamont this week took several executive actions to make sure Connecticut that residents can retain access to the COVID vaccine after federal changes led to confusion about accessibility. The Connecticut Department of Public Health has issued health guidance encouraging the public to receive the COVID shot as a defense against severe disease, utilizing input from the American Academy of Pediatrics, the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists and the American Academy of Family Physicians.
Additionally, new guidelines released to pharmacists allow them to administer the vaccine to any state resident who seeks it out, while health insurers and health care centers were informed the state’s continued support of the vaccine affirms that health insurance will continue to cover it.
