HKTV Holiday Show Raises More than $10,000 for HKYFS

(January 8, 2025) — Haddam Killingworth High School students demonstrated extraordinary leadership and commitment, raising more than $10,711 during the 36th Annual HKTV Holiday Telethon this past December. This entirely student-run initiative benefits Haddam- Killingworth Youth and Family Services (HKYFS) and highlights the power of youth-driven community engagement.

The three-hour broadcast featured an impressive array of RSD17 students and faculty, personal testimonials, and special appearances by community leaders, captivating thousands of viewers across the region. The funds raised will directly support vital mental health resources, after-school programs, and family outreach initiatives provided by HKYFS.

On behalf of the HKYFS Board of Directors and staff, heartfelt thanks are extended to the HKTV team and the entire Haddam Killingworth community. “The funds raised will ensure the sustainability and growth of programs that serve our youth and families,” remarked a representative. “This event has also provided an invaluable platform to highlight the importance of prevention, mental health awareness, and community resources.”

Jennifer Favalora, Director of Operations at HKYFS, expressed her gratitude, stating, “We are truly thankful for the overwhelming support during the HKTV Telethon. Your generosity enables us to expand our reach, assist families in need, and foster a thriving, connected community where youth can grow and succeed. Thanks to this event’s success, we can continue building programs and services that create a lasting positive impact.”
