(March 14, 2026) — The Haddam Historical Society’s popular kids program, “A Week in the
Life of an Early American Child,” will run for two weeks again this summer. Offered Monday-Friday, June 22-26, 2026 and July 13-17, 2026 from 9:00 am to 12:00 Noon each day, the program is open to all children ages 8–12 and gives them a chance to unplug and experience old-fashioned fun!

All activities take place at the Thankful Arnold House Museum in Haddam, where participants will spend their days as one of Mrs. Arnold’s children or neighbors would have in 1830. Some highlights of this year’s program include making ice cream, churning butter, baking, caring for farm animals, dipping candles, crafting with wool, and playing Colonial games. The fee is $164 per week with all materials and snacks included.
To register online, go to www.haddamhistory.org/education. For questions, contact Nicole Harlow, Education Coordinator, The Haddam Historical Society, at education@haddamhistory.org or call (860) 345-2400. All students must be pre-registered as space is limited.
