(August 20, 2025) — Members of Killingworth Boy Scout Troop 18 attended summer camp at Camp Sequassen in New Hartford this past July. The scouts completed merit badges in space exploration, environmental science, metal working, animation, game design, swimming, archery, electronics and many other topics.
The Scouts also competed with other Scouts from across Connecticut, New York, Massachusetts and Pennsylvania in numerous camp-wide competitions, and the Killingworth Troop came in in second place in the camp relay and the land and sea games. The troop achieved the status of Honor Troop for the week. In August members of Troop 18 camped for three nights on Block Island. The Scouts are the only organization allowed to camp on the island. They enjoyed camping, swimming, fishing, crabbing, biking and exploring the island.
