(March 25, 2025) — On Saturday, April 26, 2025, the Haddam Historical Society and the Haddam Land Trust will host a walk at George Dudley Seymour State Park in Haddam Neck, formerly the Clarkhurst Resort. The walk will start at 9:00 a.m. and take about two hours. We will meet at the end of Clarkhurst Road in Haddam Neck.
Elizabeth Malloy of the Historical Society and Peter Smith of the Land Trust, both Haddam Neck natives, will share their knowledge of this historically and environmentally rich spot, which once was grazing land, a tobacco farm and a 20th century resort. The park features a broad, grassy tidal flat and picturesque rock cliffs that are home to a variety of bird species and other wildlife.
The walk is moderate in difficulty with one steep hill and approximately 3.5 miles. To reserve your spot call 860-345-2400 or email contact@haddamhistory.org.
