Child Actors Wanted for Goodspeed Musicals Production of “Ragtime”

(January 18, 2025) — Goodspeed Musicals in East Haddam is seeking local children for its 2025 production of Ragtime. Auditions will be held on Saturday, February 8, 2025. Goodspeed is seeking Non-Equity child actors to play and understudy the roles of Little Boy (the character is White, ages 8-12), Little Girl (the character is Jewish, ages 7-10) and Coalhouse Walker III (the character is Black, ages 5-6). All candidates should be 4’ 11” or shorter; all the boys should have unchanged voices.

All auditions are by appointment only. Appointments may be made starting immediately. Please call (860) 873-8664, ext. 721, Monday through Friday, between 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. to schedule an appointment.

All candidates should prepare a 32-bar cut of an up-tempo song with appropriate sheet music. Music must be legible and in the proper key (no lead sheets please). An accompanist will be provided. Bring a resume and recent photo.

Candidates must be available for four weeks of rehearsal and nine weeks of performances between April 8, 2025, (first rehearsal) and June 15, 2025, (close) in East Haddam.
