(January 7, 2025) — The Haddam-Killingworth High School Boys Basketball team defeated Valley Regional on January 3, 2025, by a final score of 86-43, to improve to 3-1 on the season and 2-1 in the conference. HKHS was led by junior Declan Moriarty with a career-high 27 points including 6 3-pointers. Senior Andrew Crayton led in rebounds with 15, securing a double-double with 19 points. Crayton also had 8 assists, 3 steals and 2 blocks. Senior Cody Robinson continued his fluid play with 14 points including two three-pointers. Sophomore Brody Ferguson had an impressive 4th quarter showing, adding ten points.
Senior Joe Slane and Junior Spencer Savoy continued to dominate under the boards with seven rebounds each, while Slane had a nice offensive showing as well, contributing five points. Rounding out HK’s defense, Senior Jake McKenzie, Junior Jay Evans and Sophomore Noah Marica pulled down three rebounds each. Evans also had five points. Chipping in two points each, Savoy, Junior Ethan Pitts and Sophomore Mason Eighmy completed the scoring, as the Cougars again showcased their mastery of play.
