(February 10, 2026) — On February 6, 2026 the Haddam-Killingworth High School Boys Basketball team defeated Shoreline Conference rival Cromwell 53–40 to improve to 11-5 on the season.

It was a historic win for the Cougars, who have not prevailed against the Panthers in almost a decade. HKHS was led by Senior co-captains Declan Moriarty (4) and Jay Evans (12), who continue to demonstrate consistent leadership and discipline. High scorer for the game, Junior Brody Ferguson, had 13 points, followed by Junior Mason Eighmy who had an exceptional game on offense, contributing 12 points and scoring 8 points in a row. Junior Kody Lehet continues to excel on offense and defense chipping in 6 points and pulling down rebounds. Junior Noah Marica also had a strong game on defense while Senior powerhouse Spencer Savoy played an integral role, scoring 6 points and securing key rebounds.

The teams saw the benches clear with both coaches nearly coming to fisticuffs. The double-technicals on the teams did not deter the Cougars who outscored Cromwell 23 – 8 in the third quarter and never looked back. It’s a busy week for the Cougars, against East Hampton on February 9th, Granby on February 12th, and Morgan on February 13th for Senior Night. See you on the Court.
