(January 2, 2025) — Welcome to the Haddam-Killingworth High School Boys Basketball 2024-2025 season. HKHS opened the season with a thrilling 63-59 win on Granby Memorial’s homecourt. HK was led by junior Declan Moriarty who had a career high 26 points including five 3-pointers, and going 5 for 5 from the free throw line. Moriarty also secured a critical steal with the clock winding down in the 4th, then sinking 2 free throws to put the icing on the win.
Senior Cody Robinson excelled with 16 points. Sophomore Noah Marica led in rebounds with 9, along with 7 points, followed by Spencer Savoy with 5 rebounds and 5 points. Junior Jay Evans had 5 points and sophomore Brody Ferguson contributed 4. Strong defense from Evans and Savoy helped secure the HK victory. Up next for the Cougars, the defending Shoreline Conference champion Cromwell on December 19, 2024; JV at 5:30 p.m., Varsity at 7:00 p.m. Come support HKHS for its home opener. See you on the Court.
