Outdoor Track 2022: Boys & Girls Finish Dual Meet Season Undefeated

On Tuesday, May 17, 2022 the Haddam Killingworth boys and girls track teams concluded their dual meet season as they hosted Portland at the Dick Dupuis Track.  Both the boys and girls team were victorious on the afternoon to wrap up their dual meet season undefeated.

The boys finished their season with an 8-0 record which is the 4th year in a row the boys have gone undefeated amassing a record of 30-0 over that time and since 2007 have a dual meet record of 123-6.  The boys defeated Portland by a score of 88-61.  Leading the way for the Cougars were the following event winners: John Panzera 110 hurdles (16.8), Evan Baird 3200 (11:41), Tyler Robinson 800 (2:15), Aidan Law 100 (11.2) long jump (20’1″) high jump (5’9″) and 200 (22.8), Caleb Freeman 1600 (4:54), Jared Frith pole vault (10’6″), Orion Inkel triple jump (36’3″).  The boys 4×800 relay was also victorious on the afternoon.

The H-K girls team defeated Portland by a score of 108-42 to conclude their dual meet season 8-0. This is the third consecutive undefeated season for the girls amassing a record of 19-0 over that time and since 2012 have a combined record of 87-9. Leading the way for the Cougars were the following event winners: Leah Sosnowski 100 hurdles (17.1) and 300 hurdles (52.6), Mariella Fulcher 100 (12.8) and 200 (27.5), Brianna Minervino 400 (64.0), Jess Timothy high jump (4’8″), Ly-Linh Criscuolo long jump (16’1″) and triple jump (32’0″), Scarlett Strom discus (80’11”) shotput  (27’1″) and javelin (87’5″). The girls 4×100 and 4×400 relay teams were also victorious on the afternoon to contribute to the team’s win.

The track teams will next be in action on Wednesday, May 25, 2022, at the compete in the Shoreline Championships at Old Saybrook High School.
