Killingworth Selectperson Candidates (A quick look)

DEMOCRAT

Eric Couture:    Eric is in his mid thirty’s. He was a member of the School Board in 2018, where he repeatedly kneeled for the pledge of allegiance (as reported by a local newspaper).   Eric tells everyone that he has a college education and I have no reason to doubt it.   He also states (privately and at public meetings) that he does not work and that he lives with his parents.  He does not have any experience running a business or in a management position.

KILLINGWORTH CONSERVATIVES

John Samperi:  John was self-employed, and recently informed all that he is retired. John is also a Republican and ran in a primary this year against Amy where he lost by 5 votes.  On October 15 the recount for the Primary (state mandated) was held at town hall.  There were 10 people present.   There were 7 people doing the actual recount.  Lauren – (Registrar of Voters) was overseeing the recount.  John and I were there as observers.  By definition John and I were not to participate, only to watch.  After all of the participants were sworn in, (were being paid) and were starting the recount, John announced that the election was illegal and that the recount was a waste of time.  I won’t waste your time going into details, suffice it to say Lauren came back to find three of her workers missing.  She found more workers, did all of the appropriate paperwork and the recount was finished with the same results as the original count.  Lauren filed a grievance with the State Election Enforcement Commission for the actions by John.

REPUBLICANS

Amy Roberts-Perry   Honest, Energetic.  Managed retail store at 19.  Managed Woolworths – Middletown Ct., Transferred to Terrytown NY.  Quit retail, moved back to Connecticut, where she started her Home and Office Cleaning business in 1987 – employing as many as 15 at one time.  She has done all managing of employees and clients, payroll, state and federal financial reports.

2004 PAYT –Along with three other volunteers, bringing recycling to the transfer station.  Saving the town many thousands of dollars over the last 20 years!  25 years on the Killingworth Scholarship Association.  2020 Mask Project – bringing together a group of 75 bipartisan volunteers to sew washable masks for RSD17, (donating two for each student and teacher), saving the school system THOUSANDS of dollars in disposable masks.

Since 2020 she has worked the elections and is currently Deputy Registrar of Voters in town.

I feel that, given her business and management experience, combined with her commitment to the town of Killingworth, Amy is the most qualified of the candidates to move Killingworth into the future.

Fred Perry, Killingworth
