Besides having been on every street and knocked on every door, John Samperi has worked with people on every key board and commission in the town. His devotion, his commitment to Killingworth and his work ethic are second to none. He knows the people in Killingworth and the issues. He is the best choice for First Selectman.
Killingworth is confronted with serious issues that will require serious leadership. PFAS chemicals, found in various wells around town, are a growing health threat. The State of Connecticut recently set aside $3 million for PFAS abatement. No decision has been made about how to distribute that money. Mr. Samperi has experience with securing state and federal money; he knows how the process gets done. Also, as a former fire commissioner and founder of a land trust, he understands environmental compliance issues.
He has registered more than 2,000 people as new Republicans. He co-founded the Killingworth Conservative Party. He also served as the Vice-Chairman of the Killingworth Republican Town Committee.
If there is anyone who understands Killingworth, cares about Killingworth and who embodies the “Killingworth Spirit,” it is Mr. John Samperi. He believes strongly in faith, family and nation. As First Selectman he will be fighting harder than anyone else for the people in Killingworth, the town, and its future.
