(May 20, 2023) — The newest business to open in Killingworth is the Batter and Bowl Bake Shop, located right next door to the Killingworth Family Pharmacy at 183 Route 81 in the same site as the former Cozy Corner Bakery.
The Batter and Bowl’s owner is Christina Miconi. Christina and her husband did all the renovations to the space themselves. The renovations were extensive, and the new design is just beautiful, as is every item she creates. Crisp and bright with a touch of farmhouse style, the business also features a meeting space/classroom area that is available to rent for crafters, book clubs, birthday parties, etc. Glass cases are filled with mouthwatering cookies and beautifully decorated specialty cupcakes. The bakery will also add freshly made breads to its menu soon.
Christina started her career as a baker in 2018 with a home-based cottage business named the Creative Cookie, making special-occasion decorated cookies and cakes. The new bakery was a natural progression of the success of that business and her very obvious love for what she does. She will continue to make the celebration cakes and cookies by special order.
Christina’s plans for the future include hosting children’s “cookie decorating” birthday parties and “Cookies and Cocktails” events for adults.
The Batter and Bowl Bake Shop is open Thursday and Friday from 10:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. and on Saturday from 11:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m.
