Francis will be taking over Jayne Crowley’s J.C. Art Glass Design studio space at Hilltop Orchards. Jayne has been a stained-glass artist in Branford for 48 years and will be retiring to her new home studio where she will be continuing her glass art creations. Francis, of Glass Dance Studio, has been doing stained glass art for nearly fifteen years and has been working under Jayne’s supervision with stained glass restorations for the past several months in preparation for this transition.

“You cannot put a value on the opportunity and education I have gained working alongside Jayne these last several months,” said Francis. “She is a legend in the stained-glass artisan world. Our common vision is to assure the ancient art of stained glass stays alive in Connecticut and is passed along for generations to come. Restoration of churches, lamps and other art works is all about saving an incredibly beautiful piece of history.”

In addition to restorations, custom designs and repairs, Glass Dance Studio will offer a variety of glass arts classes. Included will be guest teachers who will focus on various aspects of glass arts including fusing, jewelry, mosaic, hot melt, etc. The possibilities are infinite! Also, Glass Dance Studio has the space, tools, supplies, kilns, etc. for open studio time, which will allow students to have a place to work on their art, continue learning, share, have access to equipment and, most importantly, laugh and have fun!
