People often remark that they do not enjoy their work and cannot wait until the work week is over. Weekends are highly prized for those working Monday through Friday. However, weekends can end up being governed by catching up on all the things they could not do while they were at work.
What if you were free to do what you love rather than what you have to do? How would that feel?
Haddam Killingworth News reached out to the owner of Izzy Rose Design LLC, Colleen DePaolo to find some answers.
Haddam Killingworth News: What inspired you to open your business?
I worked in the insurance industry for 32 years and just got burned out. I had been crafting and loved it and this opportunity just kind of fell in my lap in June. So I just jumped in with both feet. To be honest, I get a lot of joy watching people get excited when they find something they like. Sounds silly, but it’s true.
Haddam Killingworth News: Do you sell items made by different artists?
I have a friend who makes some items for me. The shop is a unique gift shop. I have T-shirts, some customizable signs, tote bags, baby bibs and blankets, floral arrangements, handmade greeting cards, aprons, and more. I can make up custom gift baskets. I make about 95% of the items.
