HVFCo: Vehicle Fire on Route 9 North

Haddam Volunteer Fire Company responded to a vehicle fire this morning (Nov. 13, 2020) on Route 9 North.
At 2:20 a.m., a vehicle heading northbound between Exits 9 and 10 struck a deer, causing the vehicle to ignite. The operator stopped in the passing lane, self-extricated, and called 911. Upon arrival, units encountered a fully-involved vehicle fire. Crews extinguished the fire using a line from Engine 3-13 while Engine 6-13 blocked two lanes of traffic.
HVFC also responded to a vehicle fire at 12:30 p.m. Nov. 12 on Joseph Circle.
