HVFC Responds: Two Motor Vehicle Accidents

(October 4, 2022) — Haddam Volunteer Fire Company recently responded to two motor vehicle accidents.

At 9:50 p.m. on October 3, 2022, crews were dispatched to Pokorny Road where a driver had struck two utility poles and veered off the road numerous times. The driver continued to drive southbound on Pokorny until making a stop. With the assistance of State Troopers, the driver was evaluated on scene by Haddam Volunteer Ambulance Service personnel.

At 1:00 a.m. on Oct. 4th, Haddam Fire was dispatched to the Route 9 North exit 9 off-ramp for a rollover (pictured). A driver had veered off to the left side of the road, struck two road signs, flipped, and stopped in heavy brush. The driver was able to self-extricate and was evaluated on scene by EMT-certified firefighters.
