At 5:50 p.m., Haddam Volunteer Fire Company was dispatched to the area of 968 Killingworth Road (Route 81) where a motor vehicle and a motorcyclist had collided. The motorcyclist subsequently came to rest in a grassy area along the side of the road. Given the motorcyclist’s injuries, the LIFE STAR critical-care helicopter service was deployed.
The driver of the car was evaluated on scene by EMS personnel and refused additional medical treatment. The motorcyclist was transferred via Haddam Volunteer Ambulance Service, Inc. to a LIFE STAR landing zone area a half mile south of the accident.
A section of Killingworth Road was closed for approximately two hours following the accident. The incident is under investigation by the Connecticut State Police.
