HKMS: Cougar Celebrations March 2019

By Jennifer Olsen, HKMS Principal.

We recognize students and their achievements at our monthly Town Meetings and want to share these celebrations with you too.

Cougar Spotlight for March

The Cougar Spotlight is a recognition for students who are showing excellence in the classroom. Each month teachers will nominate students and each student will be visited by Dr. Olsen to talk about his/her work. In our main office, our Cougar Spotlight bulletin board is filled with examples of students’ excellence. The following students were recognized for March by academic teachers and AAFA teachers:
Fifth Grade:  Collin Green, Maggie Miller, Josh Frith, Reagan Aronson, Dan McCourt, Anthony Quattlebaum, Avery Maxwell, Rowan Baucom, Grace Natanzon
Sixth Grade: Jeff Thebeau
Eighth Grade: Kristen Thebeau
In April, the Cougar Spotlight will feature additional sixth grade students and students in Applied Academics and Fine Arts.

Cougar Core Value Award Winners for March

Our Cougar Core Value Awards are given to students who exemplify one or more of our Cougar Core Values: Respect, Responsibility, Acceptance, Kindness, and Perseverance. These Core Values were developed and accepted by HKMS students, parents, faculty, and staff in 2016, and we recognize students each month. We appreciate these students’ commitment to upholding our core values and being role models at HKMS.
