Letter to the Editor: Vote NO on Amending the Connecticut Constitution

The views stated here are those of the author and do not necessarily reflect those of the editors of this newspaper. We welcome supporting or opposing views on any published item. Received October 18, 2024.

When you go to vote on Election Day or during Early Voting Days in Connecticut, you are required to show identification, which protects the integrity of everyone’s vote.

When you vote by absentee ballot, no such protection exists.

The question on the ballot, “Shall the Constitution of the State be amended to permit the General Assembly to allow each voter to vote by absentee ballot?,” if approved, makes it possible for every voter to use an absentee ballot and opens the door to widespread fraud.

I am voting NO on this ballot question and encourage you to also.

Edward Munster, Haddam
