Football 2023: HKHS Shuts Out Coventry

(November 6, 2023) — Haddam-Killingworth High School (2-6) had five different players score touchdowns in its 34-0 win over the Coventry High/Windham Tech/Bolton High/Lyman Memorial co-op on November 3, 2023. Bryce Lacoss ran for one touchdown and threw for two more, while Spencer Savoy reeled off a 72-yard interception return for another score.

The other touchdowns were recorded by Josh Frith on a five-yard run, Scott Hosney on an 18-yard reception, and Jamien Evans on a five-yard reception. Axel Kolcio added four extra points in his first varsity action.
“The kids played excellent defense and the offense was balanced tonight,” said HK Head Coach Tyler Wilcox. “We did what we needed to do to win by a decisive score. We still have things we need to clean up, but the kids worked hard this week and earned the victory.”

The Cougars return home on Friday, November 10, 2023 for Senior Night at 6:30 p.m. against Capital Prep.
