(November 17, 2023) — The Haddam-Killingworth High School Cougar Den Spirit Club invites the entire RSD 17 community to attend the Third Annual Cougar Bowl on Monday, November 20, 2023, at the HKHS Football Field at 6:00 p.m.. Admission is $5.00, and the HK TouchDown Club will be selling concessions.
The Cougar Bowl game is a flag football showdown between the girls of the Junior Class of 2025 and the girls of the Senior Class of 2024. The Class of 2024 was victorious in last season’s game, and they are looking to defend their title.
The DEN will be led by our Cougar Bowl cheerleaders who are boys from our junior and senior classes. The Cougar Bowl Cheer squad is led by Senior HK cheerleaders Leeha Reddy, Anna Wessinger-Newman, Ella Cawley, and Junior Lindsey Blade. Student Announcers Luke Mauri and Blake Kamoen will be calling the game.
The Junior football team is coached by veteran HK coach, George Callender, and assisted by HK Football players Peter Guarino, Jacob McGoey, and Cooper Pitts, as well as Luke Celetano. The Senior team is coached by teacher Ryan Fraser and assisted by HK Football players Luke Dooley, Lorenzo Rich, and Wyatt Solosky.
