December 2023 Events and Programs at Killingworth Library

(November 25, 2023) — The following events and programs will take place at Killingworth Library during the month of December 2023. Register for programs by visiting the Calendar on the library’s website–killingworthlibrary.org- or by calling 860-663-2000.

Holiday Letter Writing Social – Friday, December 1, 2023 Noon-6:00 p.m. Our monthly Letter Writing Social is back again, with a special selection of supplies for the holiday season. In addition to our usual stationery, we will have a variety of festive cards, paper, and envelopes – all free to use, as always. No registration is necessary, so stop by our meeting room, enjoy a cup of hot chocolate, and write those cards!

Craft a Book Ornament – Friday, December 8, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. Picture a clear globe ornament, featuring your favorite book titles. We will work together to assemble our miniature books, and decorate the bauble with holiday swag. (You can see a photo on our website’s calendar for this date.) Attendees will be contacted in advance, so we have time to print out the book covers – so please register soon. Suitable for teens through seniors.

Pajama Storytime – Thursday, December 14, 2023 at 6:00 p.m. Come dressed to cuddle and bring your favorite stuffed animal. Mrs. Fig will share her favorite holiday stories. Family members of all ages are welcome Please register in advance, so we know how many friends to expect.

LEGO STEM Club – Tuesday, December 19, 2023 at 5:45 p.m. Future engineers! Learn to use the STEM steps to success as you solve a problem, plan and create a design, and then test your project. This month’s project is a Wrecking Ball. Suitable for elementary grades 1 through 4. Please note that adults must remain on the premises with children under the age of 12. Space is limited, so please register in advance.

American Girl Club – Thursday, December 21, 2023 at 5:45 p.m. Join us with your favorite doll (it doesn’t have to be an American Girl doll) and make new friends! Enjoy a story, discussion, activities, and a craft from a historical time period. At this meeting, we will focus on Felicity and Colonial America. Suitable for elementary grades 1 through 4. Space is limited, so please register in advance.

The library will be closed from Saturday, December 23, 2023 through Monday, December 25, 2023 for the Christmas holiday, as well as Saturday, December 30, 2023 through Monday, January 1, 2024 for the New Year holiday.
