(January 1, 2023) —The Haddam Land Trust will hold its Annual Business Meeting on Saturday, January 28, 2023, at 6:00 p.m., at the Old Town Hall in Haddam.The business meeting will be followed at 6:30 by a pause for refreshments and at 7:00 p.m., the feature program about the history and production of charcoal will be presented.Throughout the forests in Higganum and Haddam lie the scattered remains of a once booming charcoal industry. Our speaker, Thomas Worthley, a Higganum resident, is an Associate Extension Professor at the University of Connecticut Cooperative Extension Service. He is also our local expert on the production and use of charcoal in the town of Haddam.The program is free and open to the public. Bring the entire family!Face masks are optional.www.hltrust.org
