Compare the professional background and community service of the two candidates.
Renee LaMark Muir, by her own admission, is a policy wonk who spent two decades as a principal analyst at the Connecticut General Assembly Program Review and Investigations Committee. She was appointed to this position by the Democratic leadership of the State Legislature. Such a committed liberal is not in a position to represent ALL the people.
Kathryn Russell, on the other hand, currently serves on the Board of Selectmen for the Town of Deep River, is on the Library Board of Trustees, a member of the Deep River Rotary, serves on the Investment Committee of the Deep River Congregational Church and volunteers at the Shoreline Soup Kitchen. Russell professional background includes an MBA from Wharton School of Business and over thirty years in the corporate world involving management roles at American Express, AT&T Wireless and Aetna, among others.
For me, the choice to vote for Kathryn Russell was an easy one.
