Toddler Tunes – Brainerd Library. Thursdays 10:00 a.m. Ages 2-5, siblings welcome. Outdoors, weather permitting.

Love2Sign with Jaye – Killingworth Library 10:45 a.m. – 11:15 a.m.

Fun, interactive sign language classes for children ages 6 months to 6 years old. Program dates are April 28; May 5, 12, 19, and 26; and June 2 and 9. Please register for each session that  you can attend – 860-663-2000.

2022 HKHS and Killingworth Library Student Art Show and Silent Auction 4:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m. Killingworth Library transforms into an art gallery for the month of May, as we welcome back the HKHS Art Show! The public is invited to attend the kickoff reception on Thursday, May 5th, from 4:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m., and the show itself runs through May 31st. All students participating in the art show will be eligible for a  Best in Show prize, and those willing to sell their art will be entered into a drawing for a single $500 scholarship from the library (sale proceeds benefit the library). Be sure to stop by and support these young and talented artists! Students interested in participating should contact one of the following HKHS Arts Instructors: Jason Cannan, Betsy Himmelman, Megan Martin.

Haddam Garden Club Plant Sale 9:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. Haddam Elementary School. 

Saturday Storytime 10:00 a.m. Killingworth Library. Saturday Storytimes are now an in-person event! We will meet either in the reading garden, if the weather is nice, or the children’s room. This week’s story: What Not to Give Your Mom on Mother’s Day by Martha Self Simpson.

Killingworth Evergreen Garden Club Plant Sale 8:30 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.

Haddam Meadows Invasive Cleanup 9:00 a.m. – 12: p.m. Please register by emailing Cherry Czuba at cherylczuba@comcast.net   Annual spring invasive plant cleanup and trash pickup. Participants are asked to meet in the picnic area closest to the Transfer Station. Adults and youth, under 16 years of age accompanied by an adult, will remove oriental bittersweet and other invasives and/ or pick up trash.

“Shred It” event & HKHS Girls Lacrosse Bake Sale 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. We will be located at the Haddam Community Center on Candlewood Hill Road. You will see us across from the Gazebo in the center of town. A $5 per box donation is suggested. All money raised will go directly to Haddam Social Services.

HKHS Girls Lacrosse Bake Sale 8:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m. Three Sales Event Locations: Outside of Jack’s Country Restaurant 26 Killingworth Road, Higganum Community Center (shredding Event) @ the Community Center across from the Higganum Green. Haddam Neck Annual Congregational Church Quilt Show, Bake Sale & Plant Sale 10:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. This year we are again combining the show with the Ladies Aide Plant Sale and bake sale. There will be “bits and pieces” sale of fabric and notions in the adjacent parish house along with quilt raffle, basket raffle and local crafts. For information call 860-930-8520 or 860-267-4513.

Designer Bag Bingo – Ladies Night 5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. Grab your friends for a ladies night out! American Legion & Ladies Auxiliary Post 156 will be hosting an awesome night of fun. This is an adult event and must be over twenty-one. Over fifteen designer purses will be up for grabs from Kate Spade, Coach, Dooney & Bourke, and many more!
